Meet Nic! Co-Founder of Vetted the Podcast
In our latest installment of Meet the Maker, we connected (virtually) with Nic Sanchez, Co-Founder, Co-Producer and Host of Vetted the Podcast. A retired US Navy SEAL, Nic realized that his experience and challenges transitioning from a military career to a civilian life were shared by other veterans, yet nobody was talking about it. After a brainstorming session with his long-time girlfriend, a local friend of Suz & Co, Nic created Vetted to offer a platform that is committed to de-stigmatizing difficult military transitions.
The only safe house of its kind, Vetted invites veterans and their families to courageously tell their stories in all of their ugly, messy, unfiltered glory. Each episode includes a hard, honest and long-overdue conversation with a guest about life after service, how it looks compared to expectations and what challenges have ensued.
In this interview, Nic and Suzanne touch on how crucial this platform is for all veterans and their families, especially considering the high suicide rate for this demographic. In Bedford, we have strong military ties, as we are graced with both the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital and Hanscom Air Force Base. With so many families in our community connected to this cause, we were honored to spend some time with Nic to discuss his vision.
We encourage our friends and followers to connect with Vetted the Podcast via Facebook, LinkedIn and anywhere you access your podcasts. If you’d like to be a guest in one of the Vetted episodes, please email Nic at vettedthepodcast@gmail.com.
