Household Goods Drive

We are kicking off our 2022 charitable causes with a great opportunity to help a local organization, Household Goods. But we need your help!

Are you doing some closet clean-out or upgrading your furniture? Don't know what to do with it all? This is where we come in!!

Household Goods, located at 530 Main Street in Acton, provides a full range of donated furniture and household items, free of charge, to help people in need make a home. An initial act of seeking donations to help furnish an apartment for a woman and her young sons fleeing violence in San Salvador more than 30 years ago grew into the establishment of this independent 501(c)(3) not-for-profit.

How To Participate

  1. Gather your items.

As you’re cleaning out, organizing or replacing furniture, put aside items that are clean, complete, and in good working condition. Read the donation guidelines to verify that your items will be accepted.

Note that the items highlighted on the guidelines file are most in need!

  2. Bring us your items.

We welcome drop-off of items that will fit in the trunk of your car or SUV & meet the donation guidelines. They can be brought to Suzanne’s Someday Farm barn at 245 Davis Road in Bedford.

    Wednesdays & Thursdays (through 2/17): 8:30am - 6pm* (*Note: 2/17 drop offs requested by 12pm!)

    Saturdays (through 2/12): 9am - 1pm

If you have furniture or other items too bulky to transport to the drop-off location, we are coordinating pickups within a limited radius of our office. Please email us to request a pickup. We will make every effort to accommodate pickups from outside of Bedford, but are limited to the windows of time that we have use of a box truck.

DONATION GUIDELINES

We will bring all items to Household Goods on Thursday, February 17, 2022.

We will also be organizing some volunteer opportunities in the coming weeks and months to help sort the items that are donated. If you would like to join us, please email us to let us know!
